        Business BootCamp   Now recruiting for the September 19th session in Collinwood,Tennessee.  Launch U is a 6 week course that coaches aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs through starting and growing a new or existing business, how to write a business plan, how to pitch their business idea, and how to determine feasibility and financial forecasting.

    Business BootCamp is seeking to reach veterans, retailers, shop owners, cooks, artisans, makers, bakers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, business owners, or anyone who is seeking to start or grow a business, or expanding a hobby to create income through self-employment as a strategy to create meaningful work?

    Participants will benefit from coaching by a certified facilitator, proven curriculum, small group exercises, local experts as guest speakers, and a 3-month site license to use an online business planning software. If you are a resident of Wayne County or live in a surrounding county, such as Lawrence, Giles, Perry, Hardin, and Lewis counties in Tennessee you may register and attend the class.

    The Class starts September 19th and runs through October 24th, on Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Welcome Center, 200 Broadway, Collinwood, TN  38450.

    Ladies in Pink Society Savory Salad Supper  is slated for Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Middle School Cafeteria.  The event is being held to raise monies to provide items for Hope Totes for cancer patients. Other assistance available.  Dinner fee of $10. No take outs.  Tickets may be purchased at Carl's Music Shop, Duren's Health Mart, Patsy's Beauty Hut in Collinwood, Wayne County Bank, and Peoples Bank in Waynesboro or from any Ladies in Pink Society members.  Entertainment provided by "Red Hats Sassy Kats" Society.     The Horseshoe Riverbend Festival is the Clifton Rotary Club's major fundraiser held each year the weekend after Labor Day in September.  The next Horseshoe Riverbend Festival is scheduled for 7-9 September 2017.  Schedule of events will be provided once the entertainment has been booked.  There is live music entertainment on Friday and Saturday night, with daytime activities as well, including a beauty pageant.  No need to worry about parking.  There is a trolley that will take people to and from the gate to the Marina.  No stops inbetween for safety reasons.

    Beer and other adult beverages are available in the Main Street Stage area. You must have an ID Band on to purchase them. There is no charge for these ID bands. You MUST present YOUR ID to get a band for anyone over 21 years old. Your valid government issued photo ID is REQUIRED. No ID no band, NO PURCHASES. Anyone with a drink in hand and no band will be asked by security to pour it out. It's the rule!  There is a charge for the tickets to the concerts.  

    Only a couple of things we do not allow: weapons or coolers in the Main Street Stage area. We believe in the 2nd amendment but this event has adult beverage sales and the two do not mix. We want to keep our event fun and safe for all. Thank you for your help in keeping this event weapon free.

    We do not allow coolers in the Main Street Stage area. Our drink vendors have kept the prices low and will continue to provide great drinks and food for a low price.

    Be sure to bring a chair. This is an outside concert venue and there are no seats provided. The sound of the music in Clifton is awesome. The placement of the stage and sound combined with the closeness of the buildings creates the most awesome concert experience of any festival around. A nice seat to enjoy the music will be needed!

    Fabrik Emporium proudly presents Quilts For Vets. They will be honoring all Wayne County Veterans with musical demonstrations and entertainment. Pickin' Crows will be preforming. Special Dignitaries will be in attendance, including special guest Congressman Marsha Blackburn, Senator Joey Hensley, and State Representative David Byrd.     The Annual Collinwood Christmas Parade sponsored by the Collinwood Beautification Board will get underway on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The parade will feature Christmas music, the Collinwood Marching Band, floats, horses, fire trucks, antiques vehicles, and much more.  Long time Collinwood resident and cancer alleviation advocate Tina Daniel will lead the parade as the 2016 Grand Marshal.  Line up begins at 1:00 p.m. at the Collinwood Recreation Building.  -- The Wayne County News

    A Stroll Through Christmas

    “A Stroll Through Christmas” is held on the third Saturday each December on Main Street Clifton, TN. This year's event will be held on December 16, 2017, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.   Main Street will be illuminated by candle light, every business will be theme decorated, and carolers will be singing traditional Christmas songs .  

    Children have cookies with Santa (a free professional photo will be given for each child), free crafts for kids, a Christmas tree farm, restaurants will be open, and shopping available for families.   The night will end with a Christmas presentation at the historic Presbyterian Church.

    The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd Annual Home & Garden Show.  Themed "May Flowers A Burst,"  the 2017 show will feature an array of home and garden products, vendors, and exhibitors.   Whether you have a DIY project or need contractor or tools and equipment to get started, you'll find and buy it at the home and garden show.  Begins at 9 am at the National Guard Armory on US64 Bypass in Waynesboro. Vendor setup at 6am, Doors open at 9 am. Find everything you need for the home and garden during the show. Area representatives will have their products and services on display. Watch for the insert in the April editions of the Wayne County News! Booth space available indoors or outside.
